28.06.09 | Back from Peace & Love festival. Thanx a lot to you guys who supported our show despite the fact that we played the same time as Keane and Mötley Crüe. We had a blast!
I also had the chance to check out the reunion concert with my old heroes Faith no More. That was SICK! 10 years later, better than ever... I'm still stunned by their performance.

Shallow Sense will play at Ungdomsfestivalen, Torget, Köping (SWE) the 30th of May. This gig will be followed by a minor tour in Germany and then we'll return back home to rock the Summer Camp, Västerås (SWE) the 12th of June.

And it's finally official: Shallow Sense will play at Peace & Love, Borlänge (SWE) the 25th of June! See you all there!

25.04.09 | Back home from The Fuzz Guitarshow in Gothenburg. Me and Justin Biggs (Revolution Renaissance) helped out in the Woodo booth. I think this year was the best one so far. Too bad EBS couldn't show up thou... I met a lot of old friends from the good old Gothenburg times, as well as some of my networking friends from the Swedish "talk bass geek forum" PrataBas.se :)
I also fell in complete love with the Woodo B5 Poplar Birds Eye fretless 5-string bass, so I just had to bring it home...

I'm currently working pretty much writing new songs for/with Shallow Sense. The new songs is a lot different from the old tunes, but with the Shallow Sense flavour, of course. I'm really looking forward to release the songs and perform them live this summer. We have a few gigs booked in Germany and Sweden at the moment, check out the "Events"-section for more information.

16.03.09 | I've been working with Swedish indie rock band Shallow Sense for a while now. Might not be what you expected from me, I guess ;)
We've been writing and recorded new songs together and feel that the chemistry is right. So... Let's make it official: I'm the new bassplayer in Shallow Sense.

My solo and band projects will continue as planned.

08.02.09 | Three more gigs added to the agenda. Helping out Outshine once again... At Café Fiasco, Oslo (NO) February 13th. I will also do two session gigs for Shallow Sense. Kuudes Linja/Club Säpinää, Helsinki (FIN) March 19th and Summer Camp, Västerås (SWE) June 13th. Check out "Events".

01.01.09 | Just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year. I'll be more active than ever. Building my own studio at the moment and I hope to see an end of this cable-inferno pretty soon... Working with my new band project and two different solo projects. I know some of you are waiting for the results, but hang in there... I'll share a few treats eventually ;)

01.12.08 | I've decided to leave Pain of Salvation. As expected, a lot of questions and speculations appeared around the internet. I hope you'll find insight by reading my following statement:

"I've been a part of this band for almost 2 years and I'm honoured I was the chosen one. Getting to know these wonderful musicians is even more of an honour... But I've reached the point where I just have to stop and walk my own way. Exhaustion, yearning and frustration are the 3 main issues.
Exhaustion: Having a "normal day job", being a rockstar and having a lot of other (heavy) personal stuff became too much. I wanted everything so bad I ended up being sick with no energy what so ever.
Yearning: Being on tour means waiting. Waiting and waiting... I asked myself one day: Is the life back home, the people I love, worth risking just being somewhere in the world waiting? My answer is no.
Frustration: I wanna focus on my own music when I have the time for it. Don't wanna be a wheel in motion in someone else's machinery... I have way too much inspiration and there is no space for this in Pain of Salvation. Lack of dedication? No. Lack of creative outbursts within the band? Yes.
I can't give Pain of Salvation 100% at this point, and the guys deserve better... The best thing to do is to go separate ways. We made this decision together and we part as friends. I wish them the best of luck!
Huge thanx to Johan, Leo, Fredrik, Daniel and Johan no2 for being my 2nd family and for giving me the taste of being the rockstar I've always dreamt about, since I was a little kid... (Ironic, huh?).

Thanx a bunch to all the people who have supported me! See you another day, in another shape. This is Simon, signing off.

10.11.08 | Gotta love wireless... I bought a car like 10 months ago, a really nice one with kinda huge trunk to transport my basses, amps and girls. OK, maybe not the last one, but anyway... I've been using the car a shitload of times since the trunk is so great.
Sweden was great during the summer. It's now cold. A lot of snow. And now it's great to have an engine warmer for the car. I have this system installed, but no cable for the power. Obviously there are like only two brands that are the most common ones. Neither work for my car. Seems to be a one of a kind cable since I've been to almost every reseller and store within the radius of 100 km (including the company where I bought the car). No one can help me.
Today I payed the car-dealer a visit again, hoping someone might be able to help me, after all. I ran into my friend, the man who sold the car to me. I explained the whole thing and he replied (with humor): "Well, it just might be in the trunk? Haha. Anyway, let's take the car to the car-repair garage (in the same building) and see if a mechanic can solve this problem."
Inside the garage the mechanic tried to figure out this mystery... And since I was just standing there waiting, I opened the trunk. Of course, the brand new fucking cable, was lying there to the right...

18.09.08 | I'm proud to announce that I recently got endorsed by Woodo instruments and EBS amplification. My weapons of choice are: Woodo BX5 basses, both fretted and fretless, Woodo GTC2 and GPR1 guitars, EBS Classic 450 heads, EBS Classic Line cabinets and a bunch of EBS Black Label pedals.
